Small Army Salutes You!

One of the most important things I’ve learned as a CEO is that acknowledgement goes a long way. Far too often, we get focused on the “issues of the day” and take for granted all of the great work and accomplishments of those around us. It’s amazing what a simple “thank you” or “nice job” can mean to people (and how the lack of acknowledgment can often have the adverse affect.)
As we begin 2013, I encourage you to add a simple resolution to your list: Acknowledge others for their deeds. Not only will it force you to take a moment to focus on all of the positives around you, but it will lead to better work, better results and better relationships.
At Small Army, we recently instituted the Twitter hashtag #smallarmysalutes, and encourage everyone to use it as much as possible. Salute a colleague for a job well done. Salute a client for a great opportunity. Salute a partner for helping to bring your idea to life. No matter how large or small the act, a quick #smallarmysalutes can make a big difference.
Today, #SmallArmySalutes you for your continued friendship and for spreading positivity in 2013 (and for getting this far along in my email).
May the New Year be positive and prosperous for you, your family and your business.
PS. #SmallArmySalutes everyone at the agency for letting us take them home for the holidays (literally). Check out the 2012 Small Army holiday video (http://smallarmy.net/happyholidays2012/) .
